The Accelerated Christian Education curriculum from School of Tomorrow is based on five basic laws of learning: 1. A child must be at a level where he can perform. 2. They must have reasonable goals. 3. Their learning must be controlled, and they must be motivated. 4. Their learning must be measurable. 5. Their learning must be rewarded. Based on these principles, the A.C.E. curriculum assures parents of: • A solid, mastery-based, back-to-basics education for your child. • A course of study diagnostically individualized to meet a student's specific learning needs and capabilities. • A program incorporating Scripture, Godly character building, and wisdom principles. • A curriculum using advanced computer technology to help ensure the finest education possible in today's high-tech climate. Q: What will my child experience? Students enrolled in our school will be given the opportunity to work at their own pace, to master every subject that is taken, to learn about God, salvation, and Christian character. They will also be protected from the unsafe and worldly teaching of the public school system. May God lead you in your search for Christian education for your child. We currently are on a year round schedule. We work for nine weeks and get between 3 and 4 weeks off. We are also out for certain days such as Labor Day and Memorial Day. We have vacation time during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Easter, and the weeks of Christmas and New Year's. There will also be various field trips scheduled throughout the school year. This type of schedule allows for the students to retain what they learned. Our school offers affordable Christian education in a style of education that was used when our country began. This style provides a close, interactive, self-motivating environment. The student’s class is called the Learning Center. It is the classroom where all the students have their own desk, work at their own pace and excel in their Christian education. The students learn to set their own goals for their work everyday. They learn to work at a pace that will accomplish their set goals. They will also be taught respect for authority and manners. This helps equip them for real life, where having goals and meeting those goals is necessary. Each learning center will have their own supervisors who will assist the students one-on-one when needed, administer tests, to offer encouragement, and provide spiritual help. We encourage each student to pray, read their Bible and to memorize scripture. We also offer a variety of electives and classes that will create an exciting and educational learning experience. Some of the electives that will be offered are: Beginners Art, Flight Simulator, Rosetta Stone Language, Music, and other classes. These are just a few of the electives that our school will provide to further your child's knowledge. We also use a merit system that helps encourage students to work harder. During the Spring months, Accelerated Christian Education hosts the Regional and also the International Student Conventions for our students who are 13 years and older. At these conventions, students from around our country and the world are allowed to compete in academic and athletic competition. They have the ability to earn awards and scholastic achievements through this convention, as well as meet other students their age who experience the same type of school atmosphere that they do. The cost of this week long event is incorporated into their tuition. Only extra spending money would be necessary for the student to attend. As a ministry of Bible Baptist Church, Holden Beach Christian Academy, exists to assist parents in teaching students to glorify Jesus Christ in the pursuit of spiritual, academic, physical and social excellence. |
